Bekina as proud partner of Streekfonds Oost-Vlaanderen

Did you know that Bekina is a partner of #Streekmotor23, part of the Streekfonds Oost-Vlaanderen? Through this partnership, we support a whole range of local initiatives. On 28 April 2025, we attended the fifth anniversary party of Streekfonds Oost-Vlaanderen, where we learned more about the 59 local projects of 2025 and received our partner board, the official recognition sign as a Streekfonds partner.

Streekfonds Oost-Vlaanderen invests in local projects and/or initiatives with added value for people and the environment. We are part of #Streekmotor23, the regional network active in the Flemish Ardennes and the Dender region. How does it work? Local projects raise funds from individuals, companies and organisations. Every year, project ideas can be submitted by NPOs, organisations, actual associations, etc. The selected social projects first carry out a crowdfunding campaign themselves, guided by Streekfonds. The amount they raise is then doubled by #Streekmotor23, up to a maximum of €6000. This is made possible thanks to contributions from sponsors such as Bekina. In this way, we help make a local impact — something that is very important to us and aligns with Bekina's strong local identity.

At the Winter Circus in Ghent, Joris Hessels talked to initiators about the impact that Streekfonds had on their local projects in the past. After the plenary part, we had the chance to meet the initiators of the 59 projects that can count on the support of the Streekfonds and their partners in 2025. As a partner organisation of the Streekfonds Oost-Vlaanderen, Bekina helps to double the crowdfunding amount raised by these projects. It was therefore very interesting to get to know the people behind the projects from our own region better. At the end of this inspiring evening, we received our partner board, the official recognition sign as a Streekfonds partner.
